When I was five, my mom recorded our dialogue in this purple journal, starting when I asked for a sister until she was born. Sunshine Journal is a web manifestation of my mom’s purple journal shared through audio recordings, generative music, and hand-drawn animations that react to facial data.

Shimu

A narrative hidden within a series of enigmatic images, users embark on a quest to uncover a tale of rebellion against a church leader. As they hover their mouse over the images, fragments of the story begin to emerge, each piece contributing to the revelation of an autobiographical tale of defiance.

What I learned
